Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Technician recruitment under CEN 02/2025 is conducted to fill technician-grade posts across various railway zones in India. Educational Qualification

• Essential: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) pass certificate in relevant trades such as Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Electronics Mechanic, Machinist, Turner, Wireman, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, etc.
• OR Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil) from recognized institution
• OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant disciplines
• Certificate/Diploma/Degree must be from NCVT/SCVT/UGC/AICTE recognized institutions
• Candidates appearing in final year/semester are not eligible

How to Apply

2. Click on the link for "RRB Technician CEN 02/2025" or similar notification
3. Click on "New Registration" if applying for the first time
4. Enter basic details (Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number) and generate Registration Number
5. Login using Registration Number and Password
6. Fill the complete application form with personal details, educational qualification, upload photograph (20-50 KB, JPEG format) and signature (10-40 KB, JPEG format)
7. Select exam city preferences (minimum 4 cities)
8. Verify all details entered in the application form
9. Pay application fee through online mode (Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI)
10. Submit the application and take printout for future reference
11. Note down Registration Number and Password for tracking application status

Selection Stages

1. Computer Based Test - Stage 1 (CBT-1): First stage screening examination covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. CBT-1 is qualifying in nature and marks are normalized.

1. Computer Based Test - Stage 2 (CBT-2): Second stage examination for candidates shortlisted from CBT-1. This test includes questions on relevant technical subjects based on ITI/Diploma/Degree qualification along with General Awareness and Mathematics.

1. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on CBT-2 merit are called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, community certificate, age proof, identity proof, and other relevant documents. DV Admit Card is issued before this stage.

1. Medical Examination: After successful DV, candidates undergo medical fitness test as per Railway medical standards including vision test, physical fitness test, and general health examination conducted by Railway Medical Board.

1. Final Merit List: Based on CBT-2 normalized marks and subject to qualifying in DV and medical fitness, final merit list is prepared category-wise and zone-wise for appointment.

Note: CBT-1 marks are not counted for final merit. Only CBT-2 marks determine final selection ranking.

RRB Technician Grade III posts offer structured career progression in Indian Railways. Technicians can get promoted to Senior Technician, then to Technical Supervisor (Junior Engineer level), and subsequently to higher technical and supervisory positions through departmental promotion exams and seniority. With experience and additional qualifications, technicians can reach Section Engineer, Assistant Divisional Engineer, and Divisional Engineer levels, offering substantial salary growth and administrative responsibilities in railway operations.

DV (Document Verification) Admit Card for RRB Technician CEN 02/2025 is released on the official website of respective RRBs approximately 7-10 days before the scheduled DV date. Candidates shortlisted after CBT-2 can download their DV admit card by logging into their account using registration number and password. The admit card mentions the date, time, venue of document verification, and list of documents to be carried. Candidates must bring printout of DV admit card along with all original documents for verification.

RRB Technician results are declared in multiple stages - CBT-1 result, CBT-2 result, and Final Result after medical examination. Results are published on official RRB websites as PDF scorecards showing normalized marks, qualifying status, and shortlisting for next stage. Candidates can also check their individual scorecard by logging into their account. Final selection list is prepared based on CBT-2 merit (not CBT-1) and displayed category-wise and RRB-wise after completion of document verification and medical examination.

RRB Technician cutoff marks vary by category, trade, and RRB zone. For CBT-1, typical cutoff ranges from 40-50 marks for General category, 35-45 for OBC, and 30-40 for SC/ST out of 100 marks (normalized). For CBT-2, which determines final merit, General category cutoff typically ranges between 110-140 marks out of 250, while SC/ST cutoff is around 80-110 marks. Technical trades like Electrician and Fitter generally have higher cutoffs than other trades. Zone-wise and trade-wise cutoff variations are significant based on vacancy distribution and candidate performance.
