IBPS RRB 15th Reserve List 2026

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Regional Rural Banks (RRB) recruitment examination annually to select candidates for Officer Scale I, II, III and Office Assistant positions in Regional Rural Banks across India. The IBPS RRB 15th Reserve List 2026 refers to additional candidates who have qualified the examination and will be considered for appointment after the main merit list candidates are exhausted. This reserve list is valid for one year and candidates on this list may be called for appointment as and when vacancies arise in participating RRBs. The exam is conducted in two phases - Preliminary and Main examination, followed by an interview for Officer Scale posts. Regional Rural Banks are sponsored by various commercial banks and provide banking services in rural and semi-urban areas across different states.

Educational Qualification

For Officer Scale I:

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university
• Proficiency in local/state language as applicable

For Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer):

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC)
• Two years as an officer in a bank or financial institution

For Officer Scale III:

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC)
• Minimum 5 years experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution

For Office Assistant:

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university
• Proficiency in local/state language
• Computer knowledge essential

3. Click on 'Click here for New Registration' if you are a first-time user
4. Enter basic details like name, email ID, and mobile number to generate Registration Number and Password
5. Note down the Registration Number and Password (sent via email and SMS)
6. Login using Registration Number and Password
7. Fill the online application form with personal details, educational qualification, category, experience (if applicable), and preference of RRBs
8. Upload scanned photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm, 20-50 KB, JPG/JPEG format)
9. Upload scanned signature (3cm × 1cm, 10-20 KB, JPG/JPEG format)
10. Upload scanned left thumb impression (2.5cm × 2.5cm, 20-50 KB, JPG/JPEG format)
11. Upload scanned hand-written declaration (10cm × 5cm, 50-100 KB, JPG/JPEG format)
12. Verify all entered information carefully

Selection Stages

1. Preliminary Examination: Computer-based objective test conducted online to shortlist candidates for Main examination. Covers Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude for 80 marks in 45 minutes. Only qualifying in nature.

1. Main Examination: Computer-based test covering Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English/Hindi Language, and Computer Knowledge. Different patterns for Officer and Office Assistant posts. Marks of Main exam are considered for final merit.

1. Interview (For Officer Posts Only): Personal Interview of 100 marks conducted for Officer Scale I, II, and III candidates who qualify the Main examination. Interview assesses personality, communication skills, general awareness, and suitability for banking career.

1. Provisional Allotment: Final merit list prepared based on combined marks of Main Examination and Interview (for Officers) or Main Examination only (for Office Assistants). Candidates allotted to RRBs based on preferences and merit.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates called for verification of original certificates including educational qualification, age proof, category certificate, experience certificate, and other relevant documents at respective RRB offices.

1. Medical Examination: Candidates undergo medical fitness examination as per RRB standards. Must meet prescribed physical and medical standards for banking employment.

1. Final Appointment: After successful document verification and medical clearance, candidates receive appointment letters from respective Regional Rural Banks for joining.

Career progression in Regional Rural Banks follows a structured path with regular promotions based on performance and service tenure. Officer Scale I employees can be promoted to Officer Scale II (Manager) after 3-4 years, then to Officer Scale III (Senior Manager) after another 4-5 years, followed by Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager, General Manager, and Chief General Manager positions. Office Assistants can be promoted to Officer cadre through internal examinations and normal promotions, with typical progression to Officer Scale I after 10-12 years of service. Performance-based accelerated promotion schemes are also available for high performers.

IBPS releases admit cards for Preliminary and Main examinations separately on its official website approximately 10-15 days before the respective exam dates. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging into the IBPS portal using their Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. The admit card contains important details including candidate's name, photograph, exam date, time, reporting time, venue address, and important instructions. No postal dispatch of admit cards is done, and candidates must carry the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

IBPS declares results in multiple stages - Preliminary exam result, Main exam result, and Final result with Reserve List. Preliminary exam results are typically declared 3-4 weeks after the exam, qualifying candidates for Main examination. Main exam results are announced 4-6 weeks after the exam, listing candidates shortlisted for interview (Officers) or provisional selection (Office Assistants). The final result along with Reserve List is published after completion of interviews, showing merit-wise ranking and RRB-wise allocation. Candidates can check results on the IBPS website using their Registration Number and Password, and scorecards are downloadable for future reference.

IBPS RRB cutoffs vary significantly based on post, category, and state/RRB preferences, with Officer Scale I typically requiring 55-70% marks for General category, 45-60% for OBC, and 35-50% for SC/ST in the Main examination. Office Assistant cutoffs are generally 50-65% for General, 40-55% for OBC, and 30-45% for SC/ST categories. Preliminary exam cutoffs are usually 10-15 marks lower as it is only qualifying in nature. Reserve List candidates typically score 2-5 marks below the main merit list cutoff, and state-wise variations exist with higher cutoffs for popular RRBs in developed states and lower cutoffs for northeastern and remote region RRBs.
