The UP Polytechnic Joint Entrance Examination Council of Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh. How to Apply

2. Click on "New Registration" and create account using valid mobile number and email ID
3. Verify mobile number and email through OTP
4. Login using registration credentials and fill the online application form
5. Upload scanned documents: photograph (10-50 KB), signature (5-20 KB), Class 10th marksheet, Class 12th marksheet (if applicable)
6. Select exam groups (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K1, K2) as per eligibility
7. Pay application fee through online mode (Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI)

1. Written Examination: Candidates must appear for the JEECUP entrance examination in their chosen group(s). The exam tests knowledge based on Class 10th or Class 12th syllabus depending on the group selected.

1. Merit List Preparation: Based on marks obtained in the entrance examination, a merit list is prepared separately for each group and category (UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS).

1. Online Counselling: Qualified candidates are called for online counselling based on merit rank. Candidates must register for counselling, fill choice of institutions and courses, and lock their preferences.

1. Seat Allocation: Seats are allocated based on merit rank, category, reservation policy, and choice preferences filled during counselling. Multiple rounds of counselling are conducted.

1. Document Verification: Candidates whose seats are allotted must report to the allocated institution with original documents for physical verification within the stipulated time.

1. Final Admission: After document verification and fee payment at the allocated institution, final admission is confirmed. Classes commence as per the academic calendar of the institution.

Negative Marking: There is NO negative marking in JEECUP examination. All questions are multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four options. Mode of examination is computer-based test (CBT).

Salary & Stipend Details

Note: JEECUP is an entrance examination for diploma courses. Students do not receive salary but may receive stipend during training/apprenticeship.

After completing diploma through JEECUP admission, students can pursue lateral entry into B.Tech programmes (2nd year) through UPSEE or other state/national level entrance exams. Diploma holders are eligible for government technical jobs as Junior Engineers in various departments like PWD, Irrigation, Railways, and can progress to Assistant Engineer and higher positions. Many also opt for entrepreneurship or join private sector technical roles with good growth prospects leading to managerial positions.

JEECUP Admit Card 2026 will be released approximately 10-15 days before the examination date on the official website jeecup.admissions.nic.in. Candidates must login using their application number and password/date of birth to download the admit card. The admit card contains candidate's photograph, signature, exam center details, reporting time, and important instructions. No physical admit card will be sent by post; candidates must carry a printed copy along with valid photo ID proof to the examination center.

JEECUP 2026 Result will be declared within 15-20 days after the examination on the official website. Candidates can check their result by entering application number and password. The result displays marks obtained, rank in respective group, and qualifying status. Scorecards can be downloaded from the website. Category-wise and group-wise merit lists are published separately. Candidates must preserve their scorecard for counselling and admission process.

JEECUP cutoff varies by group, category, and participating institution. Typically, for Group A (Engineering), General category candidates need 60-70% marks for government polytechnics, while SC/ST candidates qualify with 40-50% marks. For popular institutions like Government Polytechnics in Lucknow, Kanpur, and Varanasi, cutoff ranks are within top 5,000-10,000 for general category. Group C (Pharmacy) has relatively lower cutoff. Cutoff depends on exam difficulty, number of applicants, and seat availability.
