Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Essential: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Certificate in relevant trade from a recognized institute
• Eligible Trades: Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Motor Mechanic (Vehicle), Mechanic (Mining Machinery), Draughtsman (Mechanical/Civil), Surveyor, and other relevant trades
• Desirable: National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade
• Candidates must possess a valid ITI certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT

Selection Process

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Online objective type examination covering technical knowledge of the relevant ITI trade, general awareness, reasoning ability, numerical ability, and basic English. Duration typically 2 hours with 100-150 questions. This is the primary screening stage.

1. Skill/Practical Test: Shortlisted candidates from CBT will be called for trade-specific practical/skill test to assess hands-on competency in the applied ITI trade. Candidates must demonstrate practical knowledge of tools, equipment, and job-related tasks. Qualifying in nature with minimum passing marks.

1. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying in both CBT and Skill Test will be called for verification of original certificates including educational qualifications, age proof, caste certificate, ITI mark sheets, experience certificates (if claimed), and identity proof.

1. Medical Examination: Finally shortlisted candidates must undergo comprehensive medical fitness examination as per Coal India Limited standards. Fitness for underground mining work, vision, hearing, and general health parameters are assessed. Candidates must be declared medically fit to join.

1. Final Merit List: Based on combined performance in CBT and Skill Test, along with successful document verification and medical fitness, final merit list will be prepared category-wise and appointment letters issued.

No hard copy will be sent by post; candidates must carry a printed copy along with original photo ID proof to the examination centre.
