Haryana HTET 2025

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2025 is conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) to certify the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers in government and private schools across Haryana. HTET is mandatory for candidates seeking teaching positions in Classes I-VIII in Haryana schools. The exam is conducted in three levels: Level-1 (PRT for Classes I-V), Level-2 (TGT for Classes VI-VIII), and Level-3 (PGT for Classes IX-XII/Lecturer for Post Graduate courses). Qualifying HTET does not guarantee a job but makes candidates eligible to apply for teaching positions in Haryana. The certificate is valid for a lifetime once obtained.

Vacancy Information

HTET is an eligibility test, not a recruitment exam. There are no fixed vacancies. The number of candidates who can qualify is unlimited as it is a qualifying examination. Candidates who score 60% or above (90 marks out of 150) qualify for the certificate. Reserved category candidates require the same 60% marks to qualify.

Educational Qualification

For Level-1 (PRT - Primary Teacher for Classes I-V):

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

For Level-2 (TGT - Trained Graduate Teacher for Classes VI-VIII):

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 2-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

For Level-3 (PGT/Lecturer for Classes IX-XII):

• Post Graduation with at least 50% marks in relevant subject and B.Ed OR
• Post Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed in Special Education

Note: There is no upper age limit for HTET as it is an eligibility test.

Nationality

Candidate must be a citizen of India. Preference is given to residents of Haryana state for subsequent teaching appointments.

How to Apply Online

2. Click on "HTET 2025 Application Form" or "New Registration" link
3. Register with basic details (name, email, mobile number) to generate Registration ID and Password
4. Login using Registration ID and Password
5. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, correspondence address
6. Select the Level(s) for which you want to apply (Level-1, Level-2, Level-3)
7. Upload scanned photograph (50 KB, JPG format) and signature (20 KB, JPG format)
8. Preview the filled application form and verify all details
9. Proceed to fee payment section
10. Pay application fee through online mode (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI)
11. Submit the application form
12. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference
13. Take printout of the submitted application form

Selection Process

1. Written Examination: Candidates must appear for a computer-based objective type examination for the level(s) they have applied for. Each level has a separate question paper with 150 multiple choice questions.

1. Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score minimum 60% marks (90 out of 150) to qualify the examination. There is no category-wise relaxation in qualifying marks.

1. Certificate Issuance: Candidates who score 60% or above in any level will be issued HTET qualification certificate for that level. The certificate is valid for lifetime.

1. No Interview/Physical Test: HTET is purely a written examination-based eligibility test. There is no interview, document verification or physical test conducted by BSEH.

1. Future Recruitment: Qualified candidates become eligible to apply for teacher recruitment drives conducted by Haryana School Education Department or private schools as per their specific recruitment notifications.

After qualifying HTET and securing a teaching position in Haryana government schools, teachers progress through pay levels with promotions from PRT to Head Teacher, TGT to Senior Teacher/Vice Principal, and PGT to Principal based on experience, performance and departmental examination. Senior positions like District Education Officer (DEO), Block Education Officer (BEO) and other administrative roles are accessible through departmental promotions and competitive exams. Regular increments, grade pay revisions and allowances increase with service years.

HTET admit cards are released approximately 10-15 days before the examination date on the official website htetonline.com. Candidates must login using their Registration ID and Password to download the admit card. The admit card contains exam date, time, venue details, roll number, candidate photograph and important instructions. Candidates must carry the admit card along with original photo ID proof (Aadhar Card/Voter ID/Driving License) to the examination centre. Entry without admit card is not permitted.

HTET results are declared approximately 4-6 weeks after the examination on the official website. Candidates can check their result by entering Roll Number and Date of Birth. The result displays subject-wise marks scored and qualifying status. Qualified candidates (scoring 60% or above) can download their HTET qualification certificate from the website. The certificate is digitally signed and verifiable. Hard copy certificates are issued by BSEH on request through prescribed procedure.

HTET has a fixed qualifying cutoff of 60% marks (90 out of 150) for all levels and all categories. There is no category-wise relaxation in cutoff marks. Candidates scoring 90 or more marks qualify the examination and receive the certificate. The actual marks distribution shows that typically 30-40% candidates qualify in each level. Level-wise difficulty varies slightly with Level-3 generally having lower qualification rate compared to Level-1 and Level-2.
