• For Polytechnic Diploma (Lateral Entry): Candidates must have passed ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in relevant trade with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)
• For Regular Diploma Entry: 10th pass with Mathematics and Science with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)

Note: BCECE is an entrance examination for admission to educational programmes, not a recruitment examination. Candidates undergo 3-4 years of academic study after admission.

After completing diploma or degree programmes through BCECE admission, candidates can pursue higher education (B.Tech after diploma, M.Sc/M.Tech after graduation) or seek employment in government and private sectors. Diploma holders can appear for state PSC examinations, SSC, railway technical posts, and private industry jobs with starting salaries of ₹15,000-₹25,000 monthly. Degree holders in engineering, nursing, pharmacy and agriculture have opportunities in government hospitals, PSUs, DRDO, ISRO, and multinational companies with competitive packages.

BCECE 2026 admit cards will be released approximately 10-15 days before the examination date on the official website bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. Candidates must download the admit card by logging in with their registration number and date of birth. The admit card contains important information including candidate's name, photograph, examination centre details, reporting time, and important instructions. Candidates must carry the admit card along with valid photo ID proof to the examination centre for verification.

BCECE 2026 results will be declared within 3-4 weeks after the examination on the official website. Candidates can check their results by entering their roll number and date of birth. The result displays the candidate's score, merit rank, category rank, and qualifying status. Typical qualifying cutoff ranges from 35-40% for general category, 30-35% for OBC, and 25-30% for SC/ST categories. For polytechnic courses, cutoff is generally 90-120 marks out of 300 for general category and 60-90 marks for reserved categories in competitive government institutions. Top private institutions may have higher cutoffs reaching 150-180 marks for general category candidates.
