Educational Qualification

Selection Stages

1. Written Test / Computer-Based Test: Candidates will appear for a written examination covering General Intelligence, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, and knowledge of traffic rules and motor vehicle maintenance. This is a screening test to shortlist candidates.

1. Driving Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates from the written test will undergo a practical driving test to assess their driving skills with heavy motor vehicles, knowledge of vehicle controls, and adherence to traffic rules. This is the most critical stage.

1. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify the driving skill test will be called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, driving license, experience certificates, category certificates, and identity proof.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness examination conducted by authorized medical officers to ensure they meet the physical and medical standards required for the driver position, including vision and hearing tests.

1. Final Merit List: The final selection will be based on the combined performance in written test and driving skill test, subject to document verification and medical fitness. Merit list will be prepared category-wise.

Drivers at CSL have opportunities for career advancement through departmental promotions based on seniority and performance. After gaining experience, drivers can be promoted to Senior Driver and subsequently to Supervisor positions in the transport section. Admit cards for the written test will be released approximately 10-15 days before the examination date on the official CSL website.
