Selection Process

1. Preliminary Examination (Computer-Based Test): An objective-type MCQ test covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. This is a screening test and marks do not count towards final merit. Candidates qualifying the prelims cutoff proceed to Mains.

1. Main Examination (Computer-Based Test): Comprehensive objective test with higher difficulty level covering similar subjects as prelims but with more depth. Questions test analytical ability, comprehension, and subject knowledge. Marks obtained in Mains form the basis of final merit list.

1. Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates from Mains exam are called for Computer Proficiency Test and/or Typing Test to assess practical skills in MS Office applications and typing speed. This is qualifying in nature.

1. Document Verification: Candidates are required to produce original certificates and documents for verification including educational qualifications, age proof, category certificates, experience certificates (if any), and other relevant documents.

1. Medical Examination: Final selected candidates undergo medical examination as per CSIR medical standards to ensure fitness for the post.

1. Final Merit List: Merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in Main Examination, subject to qualifying in Skill Test and successful document verification.
