1. Preliminary Examination: Computer-based objective type test to shortlist candidates for the mains examination. Covers General Hindi, General Knowledge, General Intelligence, and Elementary Arithmetic. Only qualifying in nature with normalized scoring.

1. Main Examination: Descriptive and objective type written examination testing subject knowledge, administrative aptitude, and language proficiency. Marks of this examination are counted for final merit list preparation.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on mains exam performance are called for certificate verification. Original documents including educational certificates, caste certificate, domicile certificate, and character certificate are verified.

1. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear document verification undergo medical fitness test as per state government norms. Physical standards and general health parameters are checked.

1. Final Merit List: Merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in mains examination, subject to satisfactory document verification and medical fitness. Category-wise cutoff is applied and final selection is made.

Selected candidates start at Pay Level-6 and can progress through departmental promotion examinations and seniority-based promotions.
