The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) conducts recruitment for the position of Conductor to manage passenger ticketing, fare collection, and assist in smooth operation of state-run buses across Uttar Pradesh. Selection Stages

1. Written Examination (Objective Type): Computer-based or offline objective type test covering General Knowledge, Hindi, Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning with questions designed to assess candidate's basic knowledge and aptitude for the conductor role.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on written exam merit will be called for document verification where original certificates including 10th mark sheet, caste certificate, domicile certificate, age proof, and other relevant documents will be verified.

1. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear document verification will undergo medical fitness test to ensure they meet the physical and health standards required for conductor duties including vision test, general health check-up.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection will be based on written examination marks and successful completion of document verification and medical examination, with merit list prepared category-wise and as per reservation norms.

UPSRTC Conductors have opportunities for career advancement within the organization. After serving 5-7 years with good performance record, conductors can be promoted to Senior Conductor positions with higher pay scales. Subsequently, meritorious employees can be promoted to supervisory roles such as Traffic Inspector, Depot Manager, and Assistant Traffic Manager through departmental promotion quota examinations and seniority-cum-merit basis, offering substantial salary increments and administrative responsibilities.

Admit cards for UPSRTC Conductor examination will be released approximately 10-15 days before the scheduled exam date on the official UPSRTC recruitment website. Candidates must download the admit card by logging in with their registration number and password/date of birth. The admit card contains important details like exam center address, exam timing, roll number, and instructions. Candidates must carry the admit card along with valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License) to the examination center for entry.

The written examination result will be declared on the official UPSRTC website within 4-6 weeks after the examination date. Results will be published category-wise with roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates can check their result by entering registration number or roll number on the result portal. The merit list will be prepared based on normalized marks (if exam conducted in multiple shifts) and reservation rules. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification through separate notification with detailed schedule.

Cutoff marks for UPSRTC Conductor examination vary by category and depend on factors like total applicants, difficulty level, and number of vacancies. Typically, General category cutoff ranges between 50-60% (80-96 marks out of 160), OBC cutoff is 45-55% (72-88 marks), SC cutoff is 40-50% (64-80 marks), and ST cutoff is 35-45% (56-72 marks). The actual cutoff is announced along with the result and qualifying in written exam does not guarantee final selection as it depends on total vacancies and document verification clearance.
