Educational Qualification

For Basic Computer Instructor:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type examination covering General Knowledge, Reasoning, Computer Science fundamentals, and Teaching Aptitude. Duration 2-3 hours with 150-200 questions.

1. Skill Test/Practical Test: Hands-on computer practical examination testing typing speed, MS Office proficiency, programming skills, and basic troubleshooting abilities. Qualifying in nature.

1. Final Merit List: Based on marks obtained in Computer Based Test. Skill test is qualifying. Final selection strictly on merit basis as per vacancy and category.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates undergo medical fitness test as per government norms before final appointment.

Computer Based Test (CBT) Pattern

Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer (0.33 marks for 2-mark questions, 0.50 marks for 3-mark questions)

Computer Instructors in RSSB have structured career progression through departmental promotions and time-bound advancements. Basic Computer Instructors can be promoted to Senior Computer Instructor after 5-8 years of service with good performance records. Further promotion to Principal Computer Instructor, Training Officer, and Assistant Director positions is possible through departmental exams and seniority. Pay scale upgradation happens through Annual Confidential Reports (ACR) and fulfillment of training requirements.

Admit cards for RSSB Computer Instructor examination will be released 10-15 days before the scheduled exam date on the official website.
