Overview

Selection Process

Selection Stages

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage-1: Initial screening test covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness on Current Affairs. This is a qualifying stage to shortlist candidates for Stage-2 based on normalized scores across different sessions.
  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage-2: Advanced level examination for candidates who qualify Stage-1. Contains questions from relevant trade-specific technical knowledge along with general subjects. Marks obtained in this stage determine final merit ranking.
  1. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on CBT Stage-2 performance are called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, ITI mark sheets, caste certificate, age proof, and other relevant documents at designated RRB offices.
  1. Medical Examination: After successful document verification, candidates undergo comprehensive medical fitness examination as per Railway standards including vision test, physical fitness assessment, and general health check-up by Railway Medical Board.
  1. Final Merit List: Based on performance in CBT Stage-2, successful document verification, and fitness in medical examination, final merit list is prepared category-wise and zone-wise for appointment to Technician Grade-3 posts.
