NPCIL is a Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, responsible for operating nuclear power plants across the country. • Stipendiary Trainee: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) pass certificate in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognized institute
• Technician: ITI pass with minimum 60% marks in relevant trade plus 1-2 years of post-qualification experience
• Trades include: Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Welder, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Turner, COPA, Draughtsman (Mechanical/Civil), and other technical trades

Selection Process

The selection comprises multiple stages:

1. Written Examination: Objective type computer-based test covering technical knowledge related to ITI trade, general awareness, reasoning ability, and quantitative aptitude. Shortlisting based on merit.

1. Skill Test/Trade Test: Practical examination to assess hands-on competency in the respective ITI trade. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in workshop skills, equipment handling, and job knowledge.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates for verification including educational qualifications, age proof, caste certificate, and experience certificates (if applicable).

1. Medical Examination: Comprehensive medical fitness test conducted by NPCIL authorized medical board. Candidates must meet prescribed physical and medical standards for nuclear plant operations.

1. Final Merit List: Based on combined performance in written exam and skill test, final merit list prepared category-wise for appointment offers.

Admit cards for the written examination will be released approximately 10-15 days before the exam date on the official NPCIL careers portal. Candidates must download the admit card using their registration number and date of birth/password. No physical admit card will be sent by post. The admit card contains important details including exam date, time, venue, reporting time, and instructions. Candidates must bring the admit card along with valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Driving License/Voter ID) to the examination centre.

Results for written examination and skill test will be declared separately on the official NPCIL website. Candidates can check their results using registration number and date of birth. The written exam result typically declares within 4-6 weeks of exam conduct, displaying scores and cut-off marks category-wise. Shortlisted candidates for skill test will be notified through email/SMS. Final merit list after all selection stages will be published on the website with roll numbers of selected candidates. Individual scorecards can be downloaded from the candidate login portal.

Cut-off marks vary based on vacancy availability, number of applicants, and difficulty level of examination. Typical cut-off ranges (Indicative): UR category 50-60 marks out of 100, OBC 45-55 marks, SC 40-50 marks, and ST 35-45 marks in the written examination. Skill test requires minimum qualifying marks of 50 out of 100 for UR/EWS, 45 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST categories. Final selection is based on combined merit of written exam and skill test performance within respective category quotas.
