Overview

JEE Advanced is the national-level entrance examination conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes (B.Tech) at the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, and other centrally funded technical institutions. The exam is the second stage after JEE Main and is considered one of the most challenging engineering entrance tests in India. Only the top 2,50,000 rank holders (including all categories) from JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Qualifying JEE Advanced with a good rank opens doors to premier engineering institutions through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. The result declaration includes the All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and subject-wise marks that determine admission eligibility.
