HSSC CET Group D Recruitment 2026

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) conducts the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group D posts across various departments in Haryana state. This recruitment is for Class IV positions including Peon, Attendant, Helper, Mali, Chowkidar, and other similar posts in government offices, schools, hospitals, and other departments under the Government of Haryana. The CET serves as a screening test, after which candidates will be called for department-specific selections based on their CET scores. Group D positions are entry-level government jobs offering job security and basic government benefits. Successful candidates will be posted across various districts of Haryana based on vacancy requirements and merit.

Educational Qualification

• Minimum: 10th Class (Matriculation) pass from a recognized Board
• Candidates appearing in 10th class final examination are NOT eligible
• Must possess valid educational certificates at the time of application
• Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matric level is mandatory
• Preference given to candidates with knowledge of Haryana culture and local language

4. Verify your mobile number and email through OTP received
5. Login using your registration credentials (Registration ID and Password)
6. Fill the online application form carefully with personal details, educational qualifications, category, district preference, and upload required documents
7. Upload Documents: Recent passport-size photograph (JPEG, max 50 KB), Signature (JPEG, max 30 KB), 10th Class Certificate, Category Certificate (if applicable), Domicile Certificate
8. Review all filled information thoroughly before final submission
9. Pay the application fee through online mode (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI)
10. After successful payment, submit the application form
11. Download and save the application confirmation page and fee receipt for future reference
12. Take multiple printouts of the submitted application for records

1. Common Eligibility Test (CET): Computer-based objective type screening test consisting of multiple-choice questions covering General Awareness, Reasoning, Mathematics, Science, Hindi, and English. This is qualifying in nature with qualifying marks as per category.

1. Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience: Candidates clearing CET will be evaluated on socio-economic criteria parameters including family income, dependent family members, and relevant experience marks as per Haryana government policy.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on CET score and socio-economic criteria will be called for certificate verification. Candidates must produce all original documents including educational certificates, category certificates, domicile certificate, identity proof, and experience certificates.

1. Department-Specific Selection: After CET qualification, candidates will apply separately for specific department vacancies. Final selection will be based on CET merit, preference, and department requirements.

1. Medical Examination: Finally selected candidates will undergo medical fitness examination as per government standards. Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for the post.

1. Final Merit List: Final merit will be prepared based on CET marks, socio-economic criteria marks, and preference of posts/departments. Selected candidates will receive appointment letters.

Salary varies based on posting location (X/Y/Z class cities) and actual DA percentage prevailing at the time of joining.

Group D employees can get promoted to Senior Peon/Head Attendant positions within the same cadre after 5-8 years of service with good performance records. With additional qualifications and departmental examinations, they may be eligible for promotion to Group C posts (Clerk, Assistant) through limited departmental competitive examinations. Regular annual increments and upgradation under Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme after 10, 20, and 30 years of service provide gradual pay scale improvements.

HSSC will release admit cards approximately 7-10 days before the scheduled CET examination date on the official website hssc.gov.in. Candidates must login using their registration number and password/date of birth to download their admit card. The admit card will contain candidate's name, photograph, exam center address, exam date and timing, important instructions, and roll number. No physical admit cards will be dispatched by post. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid original photo ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License) to the examination center for entry.

HSSC will declare the CET result within 30-45 days after the examination on the official website. Candidates can check their results by logging in with their roll number and date of birth. The result will show marks obtained in each section and total marks scored. Category-wise merit lists will be prepared based on CET scores and socio-economic criteria marks. Candidates qualifying the CET will be eligible to apply for department-specific Group D vacancies as and when notified. Selected candidates' final merit lists will be published after document verification and will be available on the HSSC website.

Typical / Indicative CET cutoff marks for HSSC Group D based on previous recruitment trends range between 36-45 marks out of 90 for General category, 29-35 marks for SC category, 30-37 marks for BC categories, and 32-40 marks for EWS category. Cutoff varies depending on total number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, number of vacancies, and category-wise competition. Higher cutoffs are generally observed for popular districts and departments, while relatively lower cutoffs may be seen for remote or less-preferred postings. Final selection also depends on socio-economic criteria marks which can add 10-20 additional marks to the CET score.
