Delhi Cantonment Board invites applications for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE) and Assistant Engineer (AE) for 2026. The Delhi Cantonment Board is a civic body responsible for administration of the Delhi Cantonment area under the Ministry of Defence. This recruitment is conducted to fill technical positions in various engineering departments including Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines. Selected candidates will be responsible for execution, supervision, and maintenance of engineering projects and infrastructure within the cantonment area. The recruitment is conducted through online applications followed by a written examination and document verification process. Educational Qualification

For Junior Engineer (JE):

• ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in relevant trade (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) with National Trade Certificate from NCVT/SCVT
• OR Diploma in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from recognized institution
• OR B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline

For Assistant Engineer (AE):

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from recognized university/institution
• Valid degree recognized by AICTE

Selection Procedure

1. Written Examination: Computer-based test or offline written exam covering technical subjects related to the engineering discipline (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical), General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Qualifying marks and merit list preparation based on written exam performance.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on written exam merit will be called for certificate verification. Original documents of educational qualification, date of birth, category certificate, and other relevant certificates must be produced.

1. Medical Examination: Candidates clearing document verification will undergo medical examination to assess physical and mental fitness for the post. Medical standards as per government norms will be applied.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection based on performance in written examination subject to document verification and medical fitness. Merit list prepared category-wise and overall.

1. Appointment: Selected candidates will be issued appointment letters and required to join within stipulated time period. Probation period of 2 years typically applicable.

Junior Engineers can be promoted to Assistant Engineer after completing minimum service period and passing departmental examination. Assistant Engineers progress to Executive Engineer (Level-10), then Superintending Engineer (Level-12), and eventually to Chief Engineer (Level-13/14) based on seniority, performance, and departmental promotional exams. Regular ACRs and experience in different projects contribute to faster career progression within the cantonment board structure.

Admit cards will be released approximately 10-15 days before the examination date on the official Delhi Cantonment Board website. Candidates must download the admit card using their registration number and date of birth/password. No physical admit cards will be dispatched by post. The admit card contains important details like exam center, date, timing, and instructions. Candidates must carry the admit card along with valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport) to the examination center.

The written examination result will be declared within 4-6 weeks after the exam on the official website. Results will be published as PDF merit lists showing roll numbers of qualified candidates. Score cards/marks sheets may be made available for download through candidate login. Final selection list will be published after document verification and medical examination, typically 2-3 months from the exam date. Selected candidates will be informed via email/SMS and through website notifications.

Cut-off marks vary based on the difficulty level of the exam and number of vacancies. Typically, General category candidates need 55-65% marks, OBC candidates 50-60%, and SC/ST candidates 40-50% to qualify. For Assistant Engineer posts, cut-offs are generally 5-10 marks higher than Junior Engineer. Previous year trends show JE cut-offs around 110-130 marks out of 220, while AE cut-offs range between 120-145 marks. Category-wise merit lists are prepared separately, and cut-offs are determined based on vacancy availability.
