The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) conducts the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) examination to recruit qualified teachers for government schools under the Government of NCT of Delhi. PGT positions are for secondary and senior secondary classes (IX-XII) in subjects like English, Hindi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Commerce, and Physical Education. This is a prestigious teaching position in Delhi government schools with good salary and job security. The recruitment follows a two-tier exam pattern with Tier-I (objective) and Tier-II (objective) followed by document verification. Selected candidates are appointed on regular basis with pay scale as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations. 7. Upload scanned copies of:

Selection Stages for DSSSB PGT 2026

1. Tier-I Examination (Computer-Based Test): This is a screening test consisting of objective multiple-choice questions covering General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, Hindi Language & Comprehension, and English Language & Comprehension. All subjects carry equal weightage with 20 questions each totaling 100 marks.

1. Tier-II Examination (Computer-Based Test): Candidates who qualify Tier-I will appear for Tier-II which tests subject-specific knowledge for the post applied. This paper contains 300 objective questions for 300 marks covering detailed syllabus of the concerned subject (e.g., English Literature, Mathematics, Physics, etc.).

1. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on Tier-II marks will be called for document verification where all original certificates related to age, educational qualification, category, experience, CTET, and other relevant documents will be verified. Candidates must bring original documents along with self-attested photocopies.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates after document verification will undergo medical fitness examination as per government norms to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for the teaching position.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection will be based purely on marks obtained in Tier-II examination subject to qualifying Tier-I and successful completion of document verification and medical examination. Merit list will be prepared category-wise and subject-wise.

Note: There is no interview for DSSSB PGT posts. Selection is purely merit-based on written examination performance.

DSSSB PGT teachers have excellent career progression opportunities within Delhi government school system. After 5-8 years of service with good performance, PGTs can be promoted to Vice Principal positions (Level-9, ₹53,100-1,67,800) through departmental examinations or selection. Subsequently, they can reach Principal positions (Level-11, ₹67,700-2,08,700) managing entire schools. Senior teachers may also be deputed to SCERT Delhi for curriculum development, teacher training, and educational administration roles with further growth prospects in the education department.

DSSSB will release admit cards for Tier-I exam approximately 2-3 weeks before the examination date on the official website www.dsssbonline.nic.in. Candidates must login using their registration number and date of birth to download the admit card. The admit card contains important details like exam date, time, venue address, reporting time, and instructions. Candidates must carry the admit card along with valid original photo ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport) to the examination centre. No candidate will be allowed entry without admit card and valid ID proof.

DSSSB PGT Tier-I result is typically declared 4-6 weeks after the examination on the official website. Candidates can check their result by entering roll number or registration number. The result includes marks obtained, qualifying status, and category-wise cut-off marks. Tier-II result is declared similarly after 6-8 weeks of Tier-II examination. Final result after document verification contains the select list with roll numbers of successful candidates arranged subject-wise and category-wise. Candidates can download their scorecard from the website for future reference.

Typical / Indicative DSSSB PGT cut-off marks based on recent recruitment trends: Tier-I cut-offs are generally moderate ranging between 35-50 marks out of 100 depending on category (General: 45-50, OBC: 40-45, SC: 38-43, ST: 35-40 marks). Tier-II cut-offs are more competitive and vary significantly by subject - popular subjects like English and Mathematics see higher cut-offs (General: 220-240/300, OBC: 200-220, SC: 180-200, ST: 170-190) while subjects with fewer applicants have relatively lower cut-offs. Final selection depends on vacancy, number of candidates, and exam difficulty level each year.
