How to Apply

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: All received applications will be scrutinized for eligibility criteria including educational qualifications, age limit, and completeness of application. Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification where original certificates of educational qualifications, experience, caste certificate, and identity proof will be checked against submitted copies.

1. Personal Interview: Candidates who clear document verification will appear for a personal interview before a duly constituted Selection Committee. The interview will assess the candidate's suitability for hostel management, communication skills, problem-solving ability, and overall personality.

1. Merit List Preparation: Based on interview performance and qualifications, a final merit list will be prepared category-wise. Reservation rules as per Government of India norms will be followed.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates will undergo a medical fitness examination by authorized medical board to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for the position.

1. Final Appointment: Upon successful completion of medical examination and police verification, appointment letters will be issued and candidates will join as Assistant Matron at CUSAT.

Salary Structure

Typical / Indicative salary for Assistant Matron at CUSAT (as per 7th Central Pay Commission):

The final result will be declared within 30-45 days after completion of interviews and document verification. Selected candidates will also be individually informed through email and registered post. The result will be final and no correspondence regarding results will be entertained by the university.

Since there is no written examination, cutoff marks apply only to the interview stage. Typically, candidates need to score minimum 40 marks out of 100 in the personal interview to qualify (35 marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). The final selection cutoff varies based on the number of vacancies and performance of candidates. Generally, selected candidates score between 55-75 marks in interview, with UR category having higher cutoffs (65-75) compared to reserved categories (50-65 marks).
