Central Bank of India invites applications for recruitment of 4500 Apprentices across India for the year 2026. This recruitment is conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961 to provide practical training and on-the-job experience to fresh graduates in banking operations. Selected candidates will undergo a one-year apprenticeship period at various Central Bank of India branches across the country. The apprenticeship provides a stipend and valuable banking sector experience. After successful completion, candidates may have opportunities for regular absorption in the bank subject to vacancies and performance. Educational Qualification

Selection Procedure

1. Online Written Test: Computer-based test consisting of multiple-choice questions covering Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General/Financial Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. Duration: 60-90 minutes. This is the primary selection criterion.

1. Merit List Preparation: Based on marks obtained in online test, category-wise merit lists will be prepared. Candidates will be shortlisted state/zone-wise as per preferences filled in application form.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification at designated centers. Original certificates of age proof, educational qualification, caste certificate, and other relevant documents must be produced.

1. Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit to perform banking duties. Medical examination may be conducted before final selection.

1. Final Selection: Based on merit in online test, document verification, and medical fitness, final selection will be made. Selected candidates will be offered apprenticeship at branches according to their preference and availability.

1. Offer Letter: Finally selected candidates will receive offer letters specifying branch location, stipend details, and joining date for commencement of one-year apprenticeship training.

Post-Apprenticeship: Upon successful completion of one-year apprenticeship, candidates may be considered for regular appointment in Central Bank of India subject to vacancies, performance evaluation, and management discretion. Regular employees receive Pay Scale as per bank norms (typically around ₹25,000-35,000 for entry-level positions).

After successful completion of the one-year apprenticeship program, candidates may be considered for regular absorption as Clerks or other entry-level positions in Central Bank of India based on performance, vacancies, and organizational requirements. Once absorbed as regular employees, career progression follows the bank's promotion policy with opportunities to advance to Senior Clerk, Officer Scale-I (through internal exams like JAIIB/CAIIB), and higher management positions through experience and performance.

Admit cards for the online written test will be released approximately 10-15 days before the exam date on the official Central Bank of India recruitment portal. Candidates must login with their registration number and password/date of birth to download the admit card. The admit card contains important details including exam date, time, venue address, and instructions.
