UPBEd (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department) conducts recruitment examinations for teaching positions in primary and upper primary schools across Uttar Pradesh. The UPBEd Result 2026 pertains to the outcome of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) or direct recruitment examinations conducted by the Basic Education Department. Successful candidates become eligible for appointment as Assistant Teachers (Primary) and Assistant Teachers (Upper Primary) in government-aided and government primary schools in UP. This examination is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board under the State Government's education department. The selection process evaluates candidates' subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and understanding of child psychology and pedagogy.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination (Computer Based Test): A single-stage objective type computer-based test covering Child Development & Pedagogy, Language-I (Hindi), Language-II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics & Environmental Studies (for Primary) or Science & Social Studies (for Upper Primary). Duration is 150 minutes with 150 questions.

1. Merit List Preparation: Merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination. Candidates will be ranked category-wise and post-wise based on their total marks.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification where original certificates related to educational qualification, caste certificate, domicile, age proof, and other relevant documents will be verified.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates will undergo medical examination to ensure fitness for the teaching position as per government norms.

1. Final Selection & Appointment: Final appointment letters will be issued to candidates who successfully complete all stages and whose documents are found in order. Selection will be strictly based on merit within the reservation norms.

Assistant Teachers in UPBEd can progress to Senior Assistant Teacher positions after completing requisite service years and obtaining good performance reports. Further promotions include Assistant Headmaster/Headmistress of primary schools, Principal of upper primary schools, and Block Education Officer (BEO) positions through departmental examinations and seniority. Teachers can also pursue higher educational qualifications like M.Ed to enhance career prospects and become eligible for lecturer positions in DIETs (District Institutes of Education and Training).

UPBEd Admit Cards will be released approximately 15-20 days before the scheduled examination date on the official website. Candidates need to login using their registration number and date of birth/password to download the admit card. The admit card will contain candidate's name, photograph, exam center address, reporting time, exam date and timing, and important instructions. No physical admit cards will be sent by post; candidates must carry a printed copy along with valid photo ID proof to the examination center.

UPBEd Result 2026 will be declared approximately 6-8 weeks after the completion of the written examination. Results will be published on the official UPBEd website in PDF format containing roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates can also check individual results by logging in with their registration credentials. The result will include category-wise merit lists and cutoff marks for each post and category. Selected candidates will be called for document verification through separate notifications.

UPBEd cutoff marks vary based on the difficulty level of the examination, number of vacancies, and number of candidates appearing. Typical cutoff ranges from 85-95 marks out of 150 for General category, 75-85 marks for OBC category, 70-80 marks for SC category, and 65-75 marks for ST category. The cutoff is generally higher for Upper Primary level compared to Primary level positions. Cutoff marks are determined separately for each subject/post category and reservation category.
