Educational Qualification

How to Apply Online

2. Click on the "CEN 07/2025 NTPC Undergraduate" notification link on the homepage
3. Click on "New Registration" if applying for first time, or use existing login credentials
4. Complete the registration by providing basic details (name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID)
5. Note down the Registration Number and Password sent to your registered mobile/email
6. Login using credentials and fill the complete application form with personal, educational, and other details
7. Upload scanned copies of recent photograph (3.5 cm × 3.5 cm, 20-50 KB, JPEG format) and signature (3-4 cm × 1-2 cm, 10-40 KB, JPEG format)
8. Select your preferred exam city/zone from the available options
9. Pay the application fee through online modes (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI) or offline mode (SBI Challan)
10. Submit the application form and take printout of the application for future reference

Selection Process Stages

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage 1: First stage screening exam covering General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence & Reasoning. Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance and merit for CBT Stage 2.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage 2: Second stage exam for shortlisted candidates comprising General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and questions related to posts. Candidates are selected based on normalized scores and merit.

1. Typing Skill Test (TST): Applicable for specific posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist requiring typing skills. Candidates must achieve minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on computer. This is qualifying in nature.

1. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Conducted for specific posts like Traffic Assistant, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, etc. Tests mental ability, concentration, and aptitude required for railway operations. This is qualifying in nature with minimum qualifying marks.

1. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates are called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, community certificate, date of birth proof, and other relevant documents as per eligibility criteria.

1. Medical Examination: Final stage where candidates undergo comprehensive medical fitness examination as per Railway Medical Standards. Candidates must be declared medically fit in all parameters (vision, hearing, physical fitness) to be eligible for appointment.
