JAC Delhi Round 1 Cutoff 2026 Released - DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D & DSEU Opening & Closing Ranks

JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling Delhi) conducts centralized counselling for admissions to undergraduate engineering programs (B.Tech) at four premier institutes: Delhi Technological University (DTU), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), and Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU). Round 1 Cutoff 2026 has been released, indicating the opening and closing ranks for various branches across these institutions. This counselling process is based on JEE Main scores and determines seat allocation based on candidate preferences and merit ranks. The cutoff ranks vary significantly across branches and institutes, with computer science and allied branches typically having the highest cutoffs. JAC Delhi counselling is conducted annually for approximately 4,500-5,000 seats across all four participating institutions.

Educational Qualification

Age Limit

Note: There is generally no upper age limit for B.Tech admissions through JAC Delhi. The minimum age requirement is that candidates should have completed 17 years by the admission date.

• Delhi domicile candidates get 85% reservation in DTU and NSUT seats
• Outside Delhi candidates can apply for 15% seats in DTU/NSUT
• IIIT-Delhi offers 50% seats to Delhi candidates and 50% to outside Delhi candidates

7. Pay the counselling registration fee online through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI
8. Lock the filled choices after final review (can modify before locking deadline)
9. Download and save the filled application form and payment receipt for future reference
10. Await seat allotment results based on merit, preferences, and availability

1. JEE Main Qualification: Candidates must first qualify JEE Main 2026 conducted by NTA. The JEE Main rank (percentile score) forms the basis of all merit lists for JAC Delhi counselling.

1. JAC Delhi Registration: Eligible candidates register on the JAC Delhi portal by paying the counselling fee and submitting required documents for verification.

1. Choice Filling: Candidates fill their preferred institute-branch combinations in order of preference. The choice filling facility allows selection of multiple options across DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, and DSEU.

1. Document Verification: Online/offline document verification is conducted where uploaded certificates are verified for authenticity. This includes Class 10th, 12th, JEE Main scorecard, category certificates, and domicile certificates.

1. Seat Allotment - Round 1: Based on JEE Main rank, category, domicile status, and filled choices, seats are allotted using a computerized algorithm. Round 1 cutoffs are released indicating opening and closing ranks for each branch.

1. Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment: Allotted candidates must accept the seat online and pay the seat acceptance fee within the stipulated deadline to confirm admission.

1. Subsequent Rounds: Round 2 and subsequent spot rounds are conducted for unfilled seats or candidates who wish to upgrade their allotment.

1. Physical Reporting: Finally, candidates must physically report to the allotted institute with original documents for verification and completion of admission formalities.

For JAC Delhi counselling, there is no admit card requirement as no separate examination is conducted. However, candidates must download their seat allotment letters after each counselling round from the official JAC Delhi portal. The allotment letter contains details of the allotted institute, branch, category, and reporting dates. Candidates must carry this allotment letter along with original documents during physical reporting at the respective institutes. The allotment letter is typically made available within 2-3 days after the declaration of round-wise results.

JAC Delhi releases round-wise seat allotment results on its official website (jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in). Round 1 cutoff and allotment results are usually announced in late June or early July, followed by Round 2 and subsequent spot rounds. Candidates can check their allotment status by logging into their registered account using application number and password. The result displays the allotted institute, branch, category under which seat is allotted, and further instructions for seat acceptance and fee payment. Opening and closing ranks for each branch-category combination are published separately as cutoff lists.

JAC Delhi cutoffs vary significantly across institutes and branches. For DTU and NSUT, Computer Science Engineering typically closes at ranks between 500-2,500 (General category, Delhi quota), while branches like Civil or Mechanical may close at 8,000-15,000 ranks. IIIT-Delhi has the highest cutoffs with CSE closing around 800-1,500 (outside Delhi). DSEU has comparatively lower cutoffs ranging from 20,000-80,000 depending on the branch. SC/ST cutoffs are typically 60-70% of General category cutoffs, while OBC cutoffs are around 80-85% of General cutoffs. Cutoffs fluctuate yearly based on exam difficulty, number of applicants, and seat availability.
