• Senior Secondary (12th Pass) with at least 50% marks AND 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
• Senior Secondary (12th Pass) with at least 50% marks AND 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR

1. Written Examination (Paper I and/or Paper II): Candidates appear for objective-type written examination based on their eligibility and preference. Paper I is for Primary Level teaching (Class I-V) and Paper II is for Upper Primary Level teaching (Class VI-VIII). Candidates can appear for one or both papers.

1. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure minimum 60% marks (90 out of 150) to qualify the examination. For SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled candidates, minimum qualifying marks is 55% (82.5 out of 150).

1. Certificate Issuance: Successful candidates who meet the qualifying criteria are awarded UPTET qualification certificate valid for lifetime. No merit list or rank is prepared as this is an eligibility test.
