RSSB Group D Revised Result 2026

RSSB Group D is a major railway recruitment conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for Group D positions across Indian Railways. Group D posts include Track Maintainer, Helper/Assistant in various departments, and other operational support roles. This recruitment is conducted on an All India basis, with posts distributed across various railway zones. The selection process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and document verification. Selected candidates get employment in Indian Railways with salary as per 7th Pay Commission in Level 1 pay matrix. This is one of the largest recruitment drives offering lakhs of vacancies for candidates with minimum educational qualification.

Step-by-step application process:

1. Visit the official RRB website (www.rrbcdg.gov.in or respective zonal RRB websites)
2. Click on "Group D Recruitment" notification link
3. Read the detailed notification and instructions carefully
4. Click on "Apply Online" or "New Registration" button
5. Enter basic details (Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile, Email) to generate Registration Number
6. Note down Registration Number and Password sent via SMS/Email
7. Login using Registration Number and complete the detailed application form
8. Upload scanned photograph (20-50 KB, JPG format) and signature (10-40 KB, JPG format)
9. Select preferred exam city choices (up to 4 cities can be chosen)
10. Pay application fee through online mode (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI)
11. Submit the application and take printout of final application form for future reference

Note: Fee is refundable after deduction of bank charges (₹500 category gets ₹400 refund; ₹250 category gets ₹250 refund) after appearing in CBT exam.

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Single-stage objective type online exam covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. Candidates are shortlisted based on merit and normalization of marks across sessions.

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Shortlisted candidates undergo physical tests based on gender. Male candidates: 35 kg weight carry for 100m in 2 minutes in one go. Female candidates: 20 kg weight carry for 100m in 2 minutes in one go. This is qualifying in nature (no marks).

1. Document Verification (DV): Candidates who qualify PET are called for verification of original educational certificates, caste certificate, medical fitness certificate, identity proof, and other relevant documents.

1. Medical Examination: Successful candidates undergo mandatory railway medical examination conducted by Railway Medical Board to ensure fitness for railway service. Categories include A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, C1, C2, C3 based on post requirements.

1. Final Merit List: Based on CBT normalized marks, subject to qualifying PET and satisfactory DV and medical fitness, final merit list is prepared and appointments are issued.

Railway Group D employees have excellent career growth prospects through internal departmental examinations and promotions. After gaining experience and qualifying departmental exams, Group D staff can be promoted to Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician Grade III, and other technical/supervisory posts in higher pay scales. Senior positions like Track Maintainer Grade I, Skilled Artisan, and eventually supervisory roles in Level 5-6 pay matrix are achievable through career progression spanning 15-25 years.

Admit cards for RRB Group D CBT are released on respective zonal RRB websites approximately 4 days before the scheduled exam date. Candidates must login using their registration number and date of birth to download the e-admit card. The admit card contains exam date, time, venue details, candidate's photograph, and important instructions. Candidates must carry the admit card along with original valid photo ID proof (Aadhar, PAN, Driving License, Voter ID) to the examination centre.

RRB Group D results are declared in stages on official RRB websites. The CBT result includes normalized scores and category-wise cut-off marks, along with shortlist for PET. Candidates can check their result by entering registration number and date of birth. After PET and document verification, the final merit list is published with roll numbers of selected candidates. The revised result for 2026 will incorporate any court directions or normalization recalculations if applicable.

Typical / Indicative category-wise cutoff marks for RRB Group D CBT (out of 100): UR category cutoff ranges between 40-50 marks, OBC around 35-45 marks, SC around 30-40 marks, ST around 28-38 marks, and EWS around 38-48 marks. Actual cutoffs vary based on number of vacancies, difficulty level of exam, and number of candidates appearing. Cutoff is determined separately for each RRB zone and may differ. Normalization across different exam sessions significantly impacts final cutoff scores.
