Selection Process

Selection Stages

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) - Stage 1: Objective type multiple choice examination covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness on Current Affairs. This is a screening test with normalized marking across different sessions. Candidates qualifying based on merit and category-wise cutoff proceed to Stage 2.
  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) - Stage 2: More comprehensive objective examination covering technical knowledge related to the ITI trade, General Awareness, and relevant technical subjects. Number of candidates shortlisted is approximately 20 times the vacancy count per RRB and category.
  1. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted from CBT Stage-2 are called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, community certificate, age proof, ITI marksheets and certificate, photo identity proof, and caste/PwBD certificates as applicable. Any discrepancy leads to rejection.
  1. Medical Examination: Candidates who successfully complete DV undergo medical fitness examination by Railway Medical Board as per Railway establishment rules. Visual acuity, color vision, and physical fitness standards must be met as per the requirements of the post.
