The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Technician Grade-3 Result 2026 for CEN 02/2025 pertains to one of the largest technical recruitment drives conducted by Indian Railways. This examination is conducted to fill technician positions across various railway zones and production units throughout India. Technician Grade-3 posts are entry-level technical positions in the Railways under Pay Level 2 of the 7th Pay Commission. Educational Qualification

• Mandatory: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in relevant trade/discipline
• Acceptable Trades: Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Electronics Mechanic, Wireman, COPA, Refrigeration & AC, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Turner, Instrument Mechanic, Draughtsman (Mechanical/Civil), and other notified trades
• Recognition: ITI certificate must be from NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) or SCVT (State Council for Vocational Training) recognized institute
• Duration: Minimum 1-2 year ITI course depending on the trade
• Candidates appearing in final year/semester are NOT eligible to apply

How to Apply Online

1. Visit Official Website: Go to the official RRB website (www.rrbcdg.gov.in) or the specific RRB zone website from which you wish to apply
2. Registration: Click on "New Registration" link for RRB Technician Grade-3 CEN 02/2025 and provide basic details (Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID)
3. Receive Credentials: Note down the Registration Number and Password sent to your registered mobile/email
4. Login: Use Registration Number and Password to login to the application portal
5. Fill Application Form: Complete all sections including Personal Details, Educational Qualifications, Community Certificate details, Upload Photo & Signature (JPG format, specific size as mentioned), and select examination city preference
6. Pay Application Fee: Pay the requisite fee through online modes (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI) or offline mode through SBI Bank Challan
7. Submit Application: Review all details carefully and click on "Final Submit" button
8. Take Printout: Save and print the application form for future reference
9. Save Payment Receipt: Keep the payment transaction receipt/challan safely

Important: Candidates can apply for only ONE RRB zone. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.

Application Fee Structure

Refund Policy: ₹400 will be refunded (for UR/EWS/OBC) and ₹250 will be refunded (for others) after deducting bank charges, provided candidate appears for CBT-1 examination.

Selection Stages

1. Computer Based Test - Stage I (CBT-1): First stage screening examination consisting of objective type multiple choice questions covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. This is a qualifying exam and normalized marks are used for shortlisting candidates for CBT-2.

1. Computer Based Test - Stage II (CBT-2): Second stage examination for shortlisted candidates from CBT-1. This test covers similar subjects but with more trade-specific technical questions and higher difficulty level. Marks obtained in CBT-2 are considered for final merit list preparation.

1. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on CBT-2 performance are called for document verification in order of merit. Candidates must produce all original certificates including educational qualification, date of birth proof, community certificate, ITI marksheets, and other relevant documents for verification.

1. Medical Examination: After successful document verification, candidates undergo medical fitness examination as per Railway standards (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, C1, C2 categories). Medical fitness standards depend on the post and department.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection is based on the normalized marks obtained in CBT-2 subject to qualifying all stages. Selected candidates are allocated to various Railway zones/units based on merit, preference, and vacancy availability.

Note: There is no interview/personality test for Technician Grade-3 posts. Candidates eligible under PwD category are also required to produce disability certificate from competent medical authority.

The typical progression is: Technician Grade-3 → Technician Grade-2 (after 5-6 years) → Technician Grade-1/Senior Technician (after 10-12 years) → Junior Engineer/SSE (through LDCE or seniority after 15-18 years) → higher supervisory positions. RRB releases admit cards for CBT-1 approximately 10-15 days before the scheduled examination date on the official website of the respective RRB zone. Candidates must download their admit card by logging in with their registration number and date of birth from the official RRB website. The admit card contains important information including examination date, time, venue details, reporting time, and instructions for candidates. No physical admit card is sent by post; candidates must carry a printed copy of the e-admit card along with an original valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/PAN/Driving License/Passport) to the examination centre for entry.

RRB declares CBT-1 results typically 4-6 weeks after the completion of all examination sessions, and results are published on the official website with normalized marks and qualifying status. Typical indicative cutoff ranges for CBT-1 are: UR/EWS: 55-65 marks, OBC-NCL: 45-55 marks, SC: 38-48 marks, ST: 35-45 marks out of 100, though these can vary by ±10 marks depending on the specific RRB zone and examination difficulty. CBT-2 cutoffs are generally higher with UR candidates typically requiring 70-85 marks, OBC 60-75 marks, and SC/ST 50-65 marks out of 150.
