- Radiographer: Diploma in Radiography / B.Sc Radiography
- ECG Technician: Diploma in ECG Technology / relevant paramedical diploma

Selection Process
Selection Stages
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Single stage computer-based examination consisting of multiple-choice questions covering General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and Technical abilities related to the post. Duration is 90 minutes with negative marking for wrong answers.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates based on CBT merit are called for document verification. Candidates must produce all original documents including educational certificates, community certificate, medical fitness certificate, registration certificates (for Nurse/Pharmacist), and other relevant documents.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who successfully complete document verification undergo medical examination as per Railway Medical Standards. Fitness certificate is issued by Railway Medical Board.
- Final Merit List: Final selection is based on performance in CBT. Candidates are allocated to various Railway zones based on merit, preference and vacancy availability.

RRB Paramedical staff have structured career progression within Indian Railways. Staff Nurses can be promoted to Senior Staff Nurse and then to Nursing Superintendent positions.
