The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts the Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) recruitment examination to select qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officers in the Law Department of Rajasthan Government. This examination is conducted for 371 posts and aims to recruit law graduates who will assist in prosecution work in various courts across Rajasthan. Selection Stages

1. Preliminary Examination: A screening test consisting of objective type multiple choice questions covering General Knowledge, General Hindi, General English, and General Science. This is a qualifying exam to shortlist candidates for the Main examination.

1. Main Examination: Detailed written examination consisting of objective and descriptive type questions covering Legal Subjects, Criminal Law, Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Evidence Act, and other relevant law subjects.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates from the Main examination will be called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, caste certificates, domicile certificate, and other relevant documents.

1. Interview/Personality Test: Final stage where candidates are assessed on their knowledge of law, communication skills, aptitude for prosecution work, and overall personality. This carries certain weightage in final merit.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates undergo medical fitness examination as per government standards to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for the post.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection is based on combined marks of Main Examination and Interview/Personality Test, subject to document verification and medical fitness.

Salary Structure (Typical / Indicative - 7th Pay Commission)

RPSC APO officers have excellent career progression opportunities within the Rajasthan Legal and Prosecution Department. Officers can be promoted to the post of District Government Counsel, Additional District Government Counsel, and eventually to Deputy Director of Prosecution or Director of Prosecution based on seniority, performance, and departmental examinations. The experience gained in prosecution work also opens opportunities for judicial services and other legal positions in state and central government departments.

The RPSC will release admit cards for the APO examination approximately 2-3 weeks before the scheduled examination date on its official website. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging into their registered account using application number and date of birth. The admit card contains important details like examination centre, reporting time, examination date, and candidate's photograph. No physical admit card will be sent by post, and candidates must carry a printout of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

RPSC declares the result of APO examination in multiple stages - first for Preliminary examination, then for Main examination, and finally after Interview/Personality Test. Results are published on the official RPSC website and candidates can check their scores using their roll number. The commission releases category-wise cutoff marks along with the result. Selected candidates' roll numbers are published in the final merit list, and appointment letters are issued after document verification and medical examination.

The cutoff marks for RPSC APO examination vary each year based on difficulty level, number of vacancies, and number of candidates appeared. Typically, General category candidates need to score around 55-60% marks in Preliminary examination and 50-55% in Main examination to qualify. For reserved categories, the cutoff is usually 5-10% lower - SC/ST candidates around 45-50%, OBC candidates around 48-52%, and EWS candidates around 52-55%. Final selection depends on combined performance in Main examination and Interview.
