Selection Process
Selection Process for RRB JE
- Computer Based Test I (CBT I): First stage screening exam covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. This is a qualifying exam with normalized scoring across different sessions.
- Computer Based Test II (CBT II): Second stage exam for candidates who qualify CBT I. This consists of two parts - Part A with General Awareness and Part B with subject-specific technical questions based on the engineering discipline chosen. Marks of CBT II are considered for final merit list preparation.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted based on CBT II merit are called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, category certificates, age proof, nationality proof, and other relevant documents. This is a crucial stage and discrepancies lead to disqualification.
- Medical Examination: After successful document verification, candidates undergo comprehensive medical examination as per Railway Medical Standards. Vision tests, physical fitness tests, and other health parameters are checked by Railway Medical Board.
- Final Merit List: Final selection is based on the normalized marks obtained in CBT II (70% weightage) and marks secured in the Medical Examination fitness parameters. Selected candidates are appointed based on merit, preferences, and vacancy availability across Railway zones.
