Educational Qualification

Application Fees

1. Preliminary Screening: Initial screening based on educational qualifications and eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to proceed to the written examination stage.

1. Written Examination: Computer-based test (CBT) or offline examination covering subjects related to electrical engineering, general knowledge, reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and Punjab history/culture. This is the main screening stage.

1. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify the written examination with marks above the cutoff will be called for document verification. Original certificates of educational qualifications, age proof, category certificate, domicile certificate, and other relevant documents will be verified.

1. Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will undergo medical fitness examination to ensure they meet the physical standards required for the Line Superintendent post. Medical fitness certificate from authorized medical board is mandatory.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection will be based on marks obtained in the written examination. Merit list will be prepared category-wise, and candidates will be appointed according to their rank and availability of vacancies.

Preliminary/Main Written Examination

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Unanswered questions will not attract negative marking.

Exam Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Offline OMR-based examination as decided by PSSSB.

Line Superintendents in Punjab government departments have good career progression opportunities. After gaining experience of 5-7 years and based on performance, they can be promoted to Senior Line Superintendent or Assistant Engineer positions through departmental promotion exams.
