Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination (Screening Test): An objective type computer-based test covering General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Basic Accountancy. This is a qualifying test to shortlist candidates for the main examination. The number of candidates shortlisted will be 15-20 times the number of vacancies.
- Main Examination (Written Test): A descriptive written examination consisting of two papers - Paper I covers Advanced Accountancy, Auditing, and Financial Management; Paper II covers Punjab Budget, Financial Rules, and Treasury Rules. Both papers are compulsory and carry equal weightage in final merit.
- Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted based on Main Examination marks are called for document verification. Original certificates related to educational qualifications, age proof, category certificate, domicile certificate, and experience (if any) are verified.
- Final Merit List: Based on marks obtained in the Main Examination only (Prelims is qualifying), a final merit list is prepared category-wise. Candidates are selected according to their rank and preference of department/posting location.
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates undergo a medical fitness test as per government standards before final appointment orders are issued.
