NLC India Limited (formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, invites applications for the post of Hindi Translator. Educational Qualification

Essential:

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University
• Diploma in Hindi Translation from a recognized institution OR
• Post Graduate Diploma in Translation (Hindi-English/English-Hindi) from a recognized University/Institution
• Proficiency in Hindi and English languages
• Knowledge of Devanagari and Roman scripts

Desirable:

• Master's Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at degree level OR Master's Degree in English with Hindi as a subject at degree level
• Previous experience in translation work in Government/PSU

Selection Procedure

1. Written Examination: Computer-based test consisting of objective type multiple-choice questions covering Hindi language proficiency, English language proficiency, translation skills (English to Hindi and Hindi to English), general awareness, and reasoning ability. Duration: 2-3 hours. Candidates scoring above the cut-off marks will be shortlisted for the next stage.

1. Translation Test (Practical): Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a practical translation test where they must translate given passages from English to Hindi and Hindi to English. This tests practical translation ability, accuracy, terminology knowledge, and presentation. Duration: 2-3 hours.

1. Skill Test/Typing Test: Candidates may be required to demonstrate typing proficiency in Hindi (Devanagari script) and English on computer. Minimum speed requirement: 30 words per minute in Hindi and 40 words per minute in English. This assesses practical working capability.

1. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying in written and practical tests will be called for document verification. Original certificates of educational qualifications, age proof, caste certificate, experience certificates, and other relevant documents must be produced for verification.

1. Personal Interview: Qualified candidates will face a personal interview conducted by an expert panel. The interview assesses communication skills, language proficiency, knowledge of translation principles, awareness of Official Languages policy, and overall suitability for the post. Marks: 20-30% weightage.

1. Medical Examination: Finally selected candidates will undergo a medical examination at NLC's designated medical facility or empanelled hospital to ensure they are medically fit for the post as per company standards.

1. Final Merit List: Final selection will be based on combined performance in written test, translation test, and interview, subject to document verification and medical fitness.

Results of the written examination will be declared on NLC India's official website within 4-6 weeks after the conduct of the exam. Candidates can check their results by entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth on the result portal. The result will display marks obtained, cut-off marks, and qualification status. Category-wise merit lists will be published for shortlisting candidates for subsequent stages. Selected candidates' names for translation test and interview will be notified separately through the website and registered email/SMS. Final selection result will be published after completion of all selection stages including interview and document verification.
