Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For Project Technical Support:

• ITI in relevant trade (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer) from recognized institution
• Diploma holders also eligible
• Minimum 60% marks in final year

For Project Nurse:

• General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing from recognized institution
• Valid registration with State/Indian Nursing Council
• ITI in Medical Laboratory Technology may be considered for support roles

For Other Technical Positions:

• ITI in relevant trade with minimum 2 years experience
• Computer literacy mandatory

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through the following stages:

1. Document Verification: All original documents and self-attested copies will be verified for authenticity and eligibility. Candidates with incomplete documents will be rejected.

1. Written Test/Skill Test: Depending on the position, candidates may be required to appear for a written test covering technical knowledge related to their trade/qualification, or a practical skill test demonstrating hands-on competency.

1. Merit List Preparation: Final selection is based on combined performance in written/skill test and interview. A merit list will be prepared category-wise.

As these are project-based contractual positions, traditional promotional hierarchy does not apply. However, good performers may get contract renewals for extended project duration or may be considered for new projects within NIHR. With demonstrated competence and additional qualifications, project staff can apply for higher technical or administrative positions in future regular recruitments of NIHR or other government health research institutions. Experience gained in research projects adds significant value for career advancement in the public health sector.

Since this is a walk-in interview process, no formal admit card is issued. Candidates should bring a self-filled application form along with all original documents and self-attested photocopies. The registration counter at the walk-in venue will provide an interview token or acknowledgement slip after document verification, which serves as entry pass for the interview. Candidates should reach the venue at least 30 minutes before the reporting time mentioned in the notification.

The result of the walk-in interview will be declared within 10-15 days after completion of all interviews. Selected candidates' list will be displayed on the official NIHR website and notice board. Individual offer letters will be sent via email and registered post to successful candidates. The result will include merit list of selected candidates along with waiting list. Cutoff marks vary based on the number of candidates appearing, difficulty level of test/interview, and category. Typically, for technical positions, UR candidates need to score around 55-60% marks in the combined selection process, while OBC candidates require 50-55%, and SC/ST candidates need 45-50% to get selected. For nursing positions, cutoffs are generally slightly higher. The final merit list is prepared based on total marks obtained in all selection stages combined.
