Selection Process

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type written examination covering General Intelligence, Numerical Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Language. Duration typically 2 hours with questions testing domain knowledge and reasoning ability.

1. Skill Test/Typing Test: For posts like Assistant, Junior Assistant, and Data Entry Operator, candidates qualifying in CBT will be called for skill test. Typing test for assistants (35 wpm English or 30 wpm Hindi) and data entry test for DEO posts (8000 key depressions/hour).

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates after skill test will undergo document verification where original certificates relating to educational qualification, age, caste, experience, and other testimonials will be checked.

Employees can advance from Junior Assistant to Senior Assistant, and further to Administrative Officer and Section Officer levels through departmental examinations and seniority-cum-merit basis. Technical staff can progress to senior technical positions with enhanced pay scales and responsibilities, with promotion opportunities typically arising every 5-7 years based on performance appraisals.

Admit cards for the Computer Based Test will be released approximately 10-15 days before the examination date on the official NBEMS website. Candidates must download their admit card using their registration number and date of birth/password. The admit card contains important details like exam centre, reporting time, and candidate instructions. No physical admit card will be sent by post, and candidates must carry a printout along with valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

Results for the CBT will be declared within 4-6 weeks after the examination on the official NBEMS website. Candidates can check their results using registration number and date of birth. The result will display scores, cut-off marks, and qualification status. Shortlisted candidates for skill test will be intimated separately through the website and registered email/mobile. Final selection list will be published after completion of all selection stages including document verification.
