Educational Qualification

For Banking Posts:

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university
• Candidates with Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration background preferred
• Minimum 50% marks for General/OBC candidates (45% for SC/ST)

Selection Stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Online objective-type examination testing General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness. Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks (overall and sectional) to proceed further.

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on merit will be called for document verification. Original certificates of age proof, educational qualifications, category certificate (if applicable), and other relevant documents must be produced.

1. Medical Examination: Candidates clearing document verification undergo medical examination at designated military hospitals. Standards are as per Indian Navy civilian employee norms including vision, hearing, and general fitness parameters.

1. Merit List Preparation: Final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in CBT, subject to document verification and medical fitness. Category-wise merit lists are prepared separately.

1. Appointment Order: Selected candidates receive appointment letters specifying joining date, place of posting, and initial designation. Police verification is conducted after joining.

Civilian employees in Indian Navy have structured career progression through regular promotions based on seniority-cum-merit. Starting at Level 5-6, employees can progress to Level 10-11 through departmental promotion committees held periodically. INCET 2026 Admit Cards are typically released 10-15 days before the examination date on the official Indian Navy recruitment portal. Candidates must login using their registration number and password/date of birth to download their hall tickets. Typically, General category cutoff ranges between 55-65 marks out of 100, OBC cutoff is 3-5 marks lower (52-60 marks), while SC/ST cutoff ranges between 40-50 marks. Separate cutoffs are applied for each section as well as overall. Post-wise cutoffs may also differ, with banking and technical posts generally having higher cutoffs than administrative positions.
