Educational Qualification

For Level 1 (Classes 1-5):

• Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
• Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

For Level 2 (Classes 6-8):

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR

Selection Process

1. Written Examination: Computer-based objective type test conducted separately for each level (Level 1, 2, and 3). This is the only stage of selection for HTET certification.

1. Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure minimum 60% marks (90 out of 150) to qualify the test. For reserved category candidates belonging to Haryana, the qualifying marks are 55% (82.5 out of 150).

1. Subsequent Recruitment: After obtaining HTET certificate, candidates become eligible to apply for teacher recruitment drives notified by Haryana Education Department. The actual selection for teaching posts involves separate processes including document verification, choice filling, and merit-based allotment.

Teachers in Haryana government schools have excellent career progression opportunities through internal promotions based on service length, performance, and additional qualifications. Primary teachers can be promoted to headmaster positions after completing required service and departmental examinations.
