Educational Qualification

• Essential: Master's Degree/Post-Graduate Degree in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates)
• Desirable: NET/SLET qualified or M.Phil/Ph.D. in relevant subject
• Subject Areas: Footwear Design & Production, Leather Goods & Accessories Design, Fashion Design, Retail & Fashion Merchandise, CAD/CAM, Production & Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Computer Applications, Languages, and other allied subjects

Selection Procedure

The selection of Junior Faculty will be conducted through the following stages:

1. Screening of Applications: All submitted applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria including educational qualifications, experience, and age limits. Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted for further stages.

1. Written Examination/Subject Knowledge Test: Shortlisted candidates will appear for a written test comprising multiple-choice questions covering subject-specific knowledge, teaching aptitude, general awareness, and reasoning ability. The test duration is typically 2-3 hours.

1. Demonstration/Presentation: Candidates clearing the written test will be called for a teaching demonstration or presentation on assigned topics related to their subject specialization. This stage evaluates teaching methodology, subject command, and communication skills.

1. Personal Interview: Final shortlisted candidates will face a panel interview assessing their subject expertise, teaching approach, research orientation, personality, and suitability for the faculty position. Marks are awarded based on academic record, experience, and interview performance.

1. Document Verification: Candidates provisionally selected will be required to present original documents for verification including educational certificates, experience letters, category certificates, and identity proof.

1. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness examination as per FDDI standards to ensure they are medically fit for the faculty position.

1. Final Merit List: The final selection will be based on combined performance in written test, presentation, and interview. Merit list will be prepared category-wise and displayed on the official website.

Junior Faculty members at FDDI have excellent career progression opportunities within the organization. Based on performance, experience, and research contributions, faculty can be promoted to Senior Faculty (Assistant Professor) and subsequently to Associate Professor and Professor levels following Academic Performance Indicators (API) and selection committee procedures. Additionally, faculty members are encouraged to pursue Ph.D., publish research papers, and participate in national/international conferences, which enhances career advancement prospects.

Admit cards for the written examination will be released approximately 10-15 days before the exam date on the official FDDI website. Candidates must login to their application account using registration credentials to download the admit card. The admit card contains important details like exam centre address, reporting time, exam schedule, and candidate instructions. No hard copy will be sent by post, and candidates must carry a printout along with valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

Results will be declared stage-wise on the official FDDI website. The written examination result with qualifying candidate list will be published first, followed by the demonstration/presentation shortlist, and finally the merit list after interviews. Candidates can check their results by entering registration number or login credentials on the recruitment portal. Selected candidates will receive email/SMS notifications and must report for document verification within the stipulated timeframe.

The cutoff marks for written examination vary by category and subject specialization based on difficulty level, number of candidates, and vacancies. Typically, General category candidates require 50-60% marks (125-150 out of 250) to qualify, while OBC candidates need 45-55% (112-137 marks), and SC/ST candidates require 40-50% (100-125 marks). Final selection cutoffs are generally higher, considering combined scores of written test and interview, ranging between 60-75% for General category candidates.
