Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) invites applications for the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Banking. CUSAT is a premier Central University located in Kochi, Kerala, known for excellence in scientific and technological education. Educational Qualification

• Essential: Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at Master's Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Desirable: Ph.D. degree in Banking, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management or related disciplines.
• NET/SET: Candidates must have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship Holder OR possess a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2018.
• Exemption: NET/SLET/GATE shall not be required for candidates who have obtained their Ph.D. degree before September 2009.

Selection Procedure

1. Screening of Applications: All received applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria. Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted for further stages.

1. Written Test / Subject Knowledge Test: Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a written examination to assess subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, research methodology, and general awareness. The test typically consists of objective and descriptive questions.

Assistant Professors at CUSAT have excellent opportunities for career advancement through the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). After completing required service periods and fulfilling research and academic criteria, faculty members can be promoted to Associate Professor (typically after 4-5 years) and then to Professor (after another 5 years).
