The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) conducts the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Operation recruitment examination to select candidates for the position of ASI in Bihar Police. Selection Stages

1. Preliminary Examination: A computer-based objective type test consisting of General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics, Mental Ability and Reasoning. This is a screening test to shortlist candidates for Mains examination. Candidates scoring above the cutoff marks will be eligible for Mains.

1. Main Examination: A detailed objective type examination covering General Hindi, General Knowledge, General Science, Current Affairs, Mathematics, Mental Ability, Reasoning, and subjects related to law and order. Only candidates qualifying Preliminary Exam will be called for Mains.

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualified candidates from Mains examination will undergo physical efficiency tests including running, high jump, long jump, and other physical standards as prescribed by Bihar Police. This is qualifying in nature.

1. Document Verification: Candidates clearing PET will be called for document verification where all original certificates including educational qualifications, age proof, category certificate, domicile certificate, and character certificate will be verified.

1. Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will undergo comprehensive medical examination to check physical fitness, vision standards, and other medical parameters as per Bihar Police norms.

1. Final Merit List: Based on marks obtained in Preliminary + Mains examination and successful completion of PET, Document Verification, and Medical Examination, final merit list will be prepared for appointment.
